قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّازِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ : إِنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُمْ فِي غَزْوَةٍ أَغْزَاهَا بَنِي لِحْيَانَ : لِيَنْبَعِثْ مِنْ كُلِّ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ ، وَالْأَجْرُ بَيْنَهُمَا .
4283 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، مِثْلَهُ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that, on the occasion of an expedition sent against Banu Lihyan, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the Companions and said: "Let one man out of every two men among you go out (to the field of jihad), and the reward of this deed will be shared between the two of them."
