وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ هُوَ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّكُمْ سَتُجَنِّدُونَ أَجْنَادًا ... الْحَدِيثَ فِي فَضْلِ الشَّامِ .
It is narrated from Abu Idris al-Khawlani (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, you will soon take the form of organised armies (that is, you will be divided into several forces for various military campaigns)." After this the narrator related the full hadith concerning the virtue of Syria.
Imam al-Harith bin Abi Usamah narrated this hadith in his Musnad. Although this report is mursal here, connected and authentic supporting reports for it exist in other books of hadith.
