وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الضَّحَّاكِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ ، وَآخَرُ مَعَهُ ، أَنَّهُمَا أَتَيَا عَائِشَةَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا - فَقَالَتْ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا : يَا فُلَانُ ، هَلْ سَمِعْتَ حَدِيثَ حَفْصَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : وَمَا ذَاكَ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ؟ قَالَتْ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا : فِيَّ تِسْعٌّ لَمْ تَكُنْ فِي أَحَدٍ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ ، إِلَّا مَا آتَى اللهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - مَرْيَمَ ابْنَةَ عِمْرَانَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا - وَاللهِ مَا أَقُولُ هَذَا أَنِّي أَفْتَخِرُ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ صَوَاحِبَاتِي .
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : وَمَا هُنَّ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ؟
قَالَتْ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا : نَزَلَ الْمَلَكُ بِصُورَتِي ، وَتَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ ، وَأُهْدِيتُ لَهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِتِسْعٍ ، وَتَزَوَّجَنِي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكْرًا لَمْ يَشْرَكْهُ فِيَّ أَحَدٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، وَأَتَاهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَحْيُ وَأَنَا وَإِيَّاهُ فِي لِحَافٍ وَاحِدٍ ، وَكُنْتُ أَحَبَّ النِّسَاءِ إِلَيْهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَنَزَلَ فِيَّ آيَاتٌ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ كَادَتِ الْأُمَّةُ أَنْ تَهْلِكَ فِيهِنَّ ، وَرَأَيْتُ جِبْرِيلَ - عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ - وَلَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيْرِي ، وَقُبِضَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِي لَمْ يَكُنْ أَحَدٌ غَيْرَ الْمَلَكِ وَأَنَا .
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : وَمَا هُنَّ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ؟
قَالَتْ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا : نَزَلَ الْمَلَكُ بِصُورَتِي ، وَتَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ ، وَأُهْدِيتُ لَهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِتِسْعٍ ، وَتَزَوَّجَنِي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكْرًا لَمْ يَشْرَكْهُ فِيَّ أَحَدٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، وَأَتَاهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَحْيُ وَأَنَا وَإِيَّاهُ فِي لِحَافٍ وَاحِدٍ ، وَكُنْتُ أَحَبَّ النِّسَاءِ إِلَيْهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَنَزَلَ فِيَّ آيَاتٌ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ كَادَتِ الْأُمَّةُ أَنْ تَهْلِكَ فِيهِنَّ ، وَرَأَيْتُ جِبْرِيلَ - عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ - وَلَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيْرِي ، وَقُبِضَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِي لَمْ يَكُنْ أَحَدٌ غَيْرَ الْمَلَكِ وَأَنَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) and another man with him that the two of them came to the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked: "O so-and-so, have you heard the hadith narrated by Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her)?" He said: "Yes, O Mother of the Believers." Then Abdullah bin Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "O Mother of the Believers, what is that?" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "There are nine virtues in me which no other woman (of my time) has been given, except for the excellences that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, granted to Maryam bint Imran (may Allah be pleased with her); and by Allah, I do not say these things to boast or claim superiority over any of my co-wives."
Abdullah bin Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "O Mother of the Believers, what are those nine qualities?" Sayyidah (Aishah) (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "(First,) the angel came down bearing my image; the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married me at the age of seven; I was sent to his house at the age of nine; he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not marry any virgin besides me, that is, no one among people shared with him (peace and blessings be upon him) in this; the state of revelation would come upon him (peace and blessings be upon him) even when he (peace and blessings be upon him) and I were under one blanket; I was the most beloved of all women to him (peace and blessings be upon him); verses of the Qur'an were revealed concerning me in a matter over which the Ummah had come close to destruction; I saw Jibril (peace be upon him), while none of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) other than me saw him; and he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away in my house when no one else was present there except the angel and me."
