قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ ، ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُلَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنَ مُخَلَّدٍ يَقُولُ : وُلِدْتُ مَقْدِمَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، وَقُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا ابْنُ عَشْرٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Maslamah bin Mukhallad (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I was born at the time the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, and when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away I was ten years old."
Imam Abu Ya'la transmitted this report in his Musnad, and its chain is sahih (authentic).
