Bakr bin Zur'ah al-Khawlani relates that he heard Sayyiduna Abu Inabah al-Khawlani (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the eminent Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was among those who had eaten blood in the days of Jahiliyyah (according to the custom of that time).
Imam Ahmad bin Mani' recorded this athar (report); its chain includes narrators such as al-Haytham bin Kharijah, al-Jarrah bin Malih and Bakr bin Zur'ah al-Khawlani.
