قَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، ثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُنَاجِي جِبْرِيلَ - عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ - فَجَلَسَ وَلَمْ يُسَلِّمْ ، فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - : لَوْ سَلَّمَ هَذَا عَلَيْنَا لَرَدَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ . فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَتَعْرِفُهُ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، هَذَا مِنَ الثَّمَانِينَ الَّذِي صَبَرُوا مَعَكَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ، أَرْزَاقُهُمْ وَأَرْزَاقُ أَوْلَادِهِمْ عَلَى اللهِ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - فِي الْجَنَّةِ .
كَذَا قَالَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

4050 \ 2 - وَخَالَفَهُ بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، فَقَالَ عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ : إِنَّ حَارِثَةَ بْنَ النُّعْمَانِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُنَاجِي جِبْرِيلَ - عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ - .. فَذَكَرَهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ مِنْ طَرِيقِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، فَخَالَفَ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ ، فَقَالَ : عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - .. فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ .
وَخَالَفَ الْمَتْنَ ، فَقَالَ : يَفِرُّ النَّاسُ عَنْكَ غَيْرَ ثَمَانِينَ فَيَصْبِرُونَ مَعَكَ ، وَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ ، فَالْأَوَّلُ جَعَلَهُ خَبَرًا عَمَّا مَضَى ، وَالثَّانِي جَعَلَهُ خَبَرًا عَمَّا يَأْتِي ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ .
كَذَا قَالَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

وَخَالَفَ الْمَتْنَ ، فَقَالَ : يَفِرُّ النَّاسُ عَنْكَ غَيْرَ ثَمَانِينَ فَيَصْبِرُونَ مَعَكَ ، وَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ ، فَالْأَوَّلُ جَعَلَهُ خَبَرًا عَمَّا مَضَى ، وَالثَّانِي جَعَلَهُ خَبَرًا عَمَّا يَأْتِي ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ .
It is narrated from al-Qasim (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna al-Harith bin al-Nu'man al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the noble presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was speaking in private with Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him). He sat down (there) but did not give the greeting of peace, so Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) said: "If he had greeted us, we would certainly have returned his greeting." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you know him?" He replied: "Yes, he is one of the eighty fortunate ones who stood firm and were patient with you (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Hunayn (in the hour of trial); their provision and the provision of their children is upon Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, in Paradise."
Al-Hasan bin Qutaybah narrated this report in this way, and he is a da'if (weak) narrator.
Bishr bin al-Mufaddal contradicted him, and narrating from al-Mas'udi with this same chain he mentioned Harithah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him).
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it through Ibn Abi Layla from al-Hakam, who differed in its chain and narrated it by way of Miqsam from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
He also differed in the text, transmitting its wording as follows: "The people will flee from you (peace and blessings be upon him) (on the battlefield) except for eighty persons who will stand firm with you (peace and blessings be upon him), and he will be among them." Thus the first narration presents the incident as news of the past, while the second narration presents it as an event to come in the future; and Allah knows best.
