وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ هُوَ ابْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، ثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ الْكَيْخَارَانِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتٍ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ فِيهِمْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرُ ، وَعُثْمَانُ ، وَعَلِيٌّ ، وَطَلْحَةُ ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ ، وَسَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ - فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لِيَنْهَضْ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ إِلَى كُفْئِهِ ، وَنَهَضَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَاعْتَنَقَهُ ، وَقَالَ : " أَنْتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ
رَوَاهُ الْحَاكِمُ فِي الْمُسْتَدْرَكِ وَصَحَّحَهُ ، وَذَهَلَ عَنْ ضَعْفِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ; فَإِنَّهُ مَتْرُوكٌ .
رَوَاهُ الْحَاكِمُ فِي الْمُسْتَدْرَكِ وَصَحَّحَهُ ، وَذَهَلَ عَنْ ضَعْفِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ; فَإِنَّهُ مَتْرُوكٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a house, in the company of a group of the Muhajirun, among whom were Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Uthman, Sayyiduna Ali, Sayyiduna Talhah, Sayyiduna al-Zubayr, Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf and Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with them). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let every man rise and go to his equal (his matching companion)." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself rose towards Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), embraced him and said: "You are my close friend and helper in this world and the Hereafter."
Al-Hakim narrated it in al-Mustadrak and declared it sahih (authentic); however, he overlooked the weakness of Talhah bin Zayd, for he is a matruk (abandoned) narrator.
