Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 3837 — The Prophet ﷺ foretelling that Persia

It is narrated from Ibn Muhayriz that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Persia is only a butt or two, and after that there will never again be a Persia (a Persian kingdom). As for the Romans, they are possessors of many horns (that is, a nation of many generations and long survival): whenever one of their horns (generations or eras) perishes, another succeeds it. They are people of great patience and steadfastness and possessors of sea power. (Their end) is far off, until the end of time, and they will remain your counterparts (or companions) as long as there is any good left in life."
This hadith is in the Musnad of al-Harith (Bughyat al-Bahith). Allamah al-Haythami mentioned it in Majma' al-Zawa'id, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. Imam al-Bazzar also narrated it in his Musnad.
