وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا جُبَارَةُ ، ثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ تُنْجِيكُمْ مِنَ الْإِشْرَاكِ بِاللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى ؟ تَقْرَؤُونَ : قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ عِنْدَ مَنَامِكُمْ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not guide you to a word that will save you from associating partners with Allah, the Blessed and Exalted? Recite 'Say: O disbelievers' [Surah al-Kafirun: 1] when you go to sleep."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded it in his Musnad; its chain contains Jubarah bin al-Mughallis and al-Hajjaj bin Tamim, who are weak narrators; however, the virtues of reciting this surah before sleeping are also established by other sahih and reliable hadith.
