It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty curse Suhayl (the star); he was an (oppressive) tax-collector ('ashshar) in Yemen who was transformed (as punishment for his sin). And may Allah Almighty also curse al-Zuhrah (the star), for it was she who put the two angels to trial and temptation."
The chain of this report contains Jabir bin Yazid al-Ju'fi, who is a liar and matruk (abandoned); therefore, according to the leading hadith scholars, this report is mawdu' (fabricated) or extremely weak and munkar (denounced), and its text also contradicts the established principles of reason and revelation.
