قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي هَارُونَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا ضَرَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ خَادِمَهُ فَذَكَرَ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَارْفَعُوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you is beating his servant and he (the servant) mentions Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, then lift your hands (that is, stop beating him)."
Imam Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded this hadith in his al-Musannaf.
