بَابُ مَا يُصَلَّى إِلَيْهِ وَمَا لَا يُصَلَّى إِلَيْهِ

Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 340 — What one may and may not pray facing

[وَقَالَ] الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A dog, a donkey and a woman (by passing in front of the one praying) interrupt the prayer."
[Takhrij and grading: Imam al-Harith bin Abi Usamah narrated it in his Musnad (Bughyat al-Bahith: 340). There is criticism of its chain because it is narrated only by the narrator Abd al-Hakam bin Abdullah al-Qasmali al-Ghafiqi; however, the basis of this hadith is narrated from various Companions in other books of hadith, including Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, which supports its text.]
