It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The means of safety for my Ummah from drowning when they board (a ship) at sea is that they say: 'Bismillahi majraha wa mursaha, inna rabbi la-ghafurun rahim' (In the name of Allah is its sailing and its anchoring (coming to rest); indeed my Lord is surely Most Forgiving, Most Merciful) [Surah Hud: 41]. And (that they recite) this verse: 'And they did not esteem Allah with the esteem that is His due, while the entire earth will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. Glorified is He and exalted above what they associate with Him' [Surah al-Zumar: 67]."
Sayf bin al-Hajjaj al-Kufi corroborated (mutaba'ah) this narration from Yahya bin al-Ala'.
And the narrator named Yahya is severely weak.
