وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ ( ح ) .
3229 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا : ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُدْرِكُ دَرَجَةَ الصَّائِمِ الْقَائِمِ بِالْخُلُقِ الْحَسَنِ ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيُكْتَبُ جَبَّارًا وَمَا يَمْلِكُ إِلَّا أَهْلَ بَيْتِهِ " .
3229 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا : ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُدْرِكُ دَرَجَةَ الصَّائِمِ الْقَائِمِ بِالْخُلُقِ الْحَسَنِ ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيُكْتَبُ جَبَّارًا وَمَا يَمْلِكُ إِلَّا أَهْلَ بَيْتِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, by his good character a man attains the rank of one who fasts (by day) and stands (in worship by night). And indeed a man is written down as a tyrant (harsh and rebellious), although he has authority and power over no one except his own household."
This narration is transmitted in the Musnad of Ahmad bin Mani' and the Musnad of al-Harith. Its chain contains Abd al-Aziz bin Ubaydullah, who is da'if (weak), and because of the criticism of Isma'il bin Ayyash's narrations from other than the people of the Hijaz, this chain is weak.
