وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ [عُمَرَ] الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، ثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ [عُثْمَانَ] ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ ، مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا تَقُولُ : ( رَأَيْتُ أَبِي يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ، وَثِيَابُهُ مَوْضُوعَةٌ ، وَقَالَ : يَا بُنَيَّةُ ، إِنَّ آخِرَ صَلَاةٍ صَلَّاهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ) .
322 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، بِهِ .

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that she said: "I saw my father (Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him)) performing prayer in a single garment while his other clothes were laid aside, and he said to me: O my dear daughter! Indeed, the last prayer that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed, he (peace and blessings be upon him) performed dressed in a single garment."
Imam Abu Ya'la also transmitted it (in his Musnad) through Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah with the same chain.
