حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ : اسْتَوْهَبْتُ مِنْ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا مِنَ السُّكِّ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَعْجِنُهُ بِعَرَقِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَوَهَبَتْ لِي مِنْهُ ، فَلَمَّا مَاتَ مُحَمَّدٌ ، حُنِّطَ بِذَلِكَ السُّكِّ .
It is narrated from Imam Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) that he related: "I asked Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) for a portion of that special kind of perfume, 'al-sukk', which she used to knead with the blessed sweat of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and she gave me some of it. Then, when Imam Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) died, he was embalmed (hunut) with that same blessed perfume (that is, upon his death, after the washing and shrouding, that same perfume was applied to him)."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), and Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal recorded it in Musnad Ahmad.
