وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا الشَّاذَكُونِيُّ ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبَانَ ، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَزَوَّرِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مَرْيَمَ ، سَمِعْتُ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَا تَزَيَّنَ الْأَبْرَارُ فِي الدُّنْيَا بِمِثْلِ الزُّهْدِ فِيهَا " .
Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The righteous have not adorned themselves in this world with any quality like zuhd (detachment from the world)."
Takhrij and grading: Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this report in his Musnad; however, the narrator Ali bin al-Hazawwar in its chain is da'if (weak), on account of which this report is weak in its chain.
