حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هَمَّامٍ ، أَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَلَّ مَالُهُ ، وَكَثُرَ عِيَالُهُ ، وَحَسُنَتْ صَلَاتُهُ ، وَلَمْ يَغْتَبِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَهُوَ مَعِي كَهَاتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has little wealth and many dependants (people under his care), whose prayer is excellent (and full of humility and devotion), and who does not backbite the Muslims, will come on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that he will be with me like these two (fingers, close together)."
In the chain of this hadith, the narrator Maslamah bin Ali al-Khushani is severely weak and matruk (abandoned), because of which this report is weak in its chain. Imam al-Bayhaqi recorded it in Shu'ab al-Iman (10300).
