It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out (of his blessed apartment); then the narrator mentioned the full hadith, in which this (saying) also occurs, that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times: "Behold! Indeed, the deeds of the Hereafter are (in terms of the strain on the self) like a hard and difficult high hill," and he said: "Indeed, the deeds (that lead) to Hell are very smooth and easy because of (carnal) desires, and in reality the fortunate and blessed one is he who has been protected from trials."
Imam Ishaq bin Rahwayh narrated this hadith in his Musnad; the hadith scholars have graded the narrator Nuh bin Ja'wanah in its chain as da'if (weak), but supporting reports for some of its sentences exist in other reliable hadith.
