It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) (the narrator says: to my knowledge he attributes it to none other than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is present when a matter (that is, an evil or sin) takes place and dislikes it (in his heart) is like one who was not present; and whoever is not present at a matter but is pleased and happy with it (on learning of it) is like one who was himself present (and took part in that deed)."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated it; the narrator Umar bin Shabib in its chain is da'if (weak), though other reliable narrations with this meaning exist in other books of hadith.
