It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a servant reaches the age of sixty years, Allah Almighty leaves him no room for excuse regarding his lifespan." Or he (peace and blessings be upon him) said (with doubt) these words: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, completes the proof against him regarding his lifespan."
Al-Tabarani narrated it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir through Yusuf al-Qadi from Sulayman.
Al-Ruyani narrated it in his Musnad from al-Saghani, from Khalaf bin Hisham.
Ali bin Abd al-Aziz narrated it in his Musnad from Arim, and all of these narrators transmit it through Hammad bin Zayd.
This chain is sahih, but it has a technical hidden defect ('illah), because several other narrators have narrated it from Abu Hazim, from Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), and it is through this chain that Imam Bukhari narrated it mu'allaq (without a full chain, in Sahih al-Bukhari). So if Hammad bin Zayd preserved it in this way, it is possible that he heard it through two different chains.
