Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 3103 — Refreshing hearts so that they retain

وَعَنْ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : " حَادِثُوا هَذِهِ الْقُلُوبَ ; فَإِنَّهَا سَرِيعَةُ الدُّثُورِ " .
It is narrated from al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "Polish these hearts of yours and keep them fresh (through admonition and the remembrance of Allah), for they very quickly become rusty, and the dust of heedlessness settles upon them."
