Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 310 — Facing the qiblah and the sutrah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said (expressing regret over the changing conditions of his time): "I do not recognise anything among the present practices of the people and their religious and worldly affairs (in the original form of the Prophetic era (peace and blessings be upon him)), except for this one thing: that they face the direction of the qiblah (in prayer)."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated it in his Musnad (hadith: 310). Its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), and this narration is also mentioned in Sahih al-Bukhari (hadith: 529) with a slight difference in wording.
