وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَنَا مَخْرَمَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : رَآنِي [ أَبُو هُبَيْرَةَ] الْأَنْصَارِيُّ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي الْفَجْرَ حِينَ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَعَابَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيَّ وَنَهَانِي ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تُصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَرْتَفِعَ الشَّمْسُ ، فَإِنَّهَا إِنَّمَا تَطْلُعُ فِي قَرْنِ شَيْطَانٍ " .
It is narrated from Sa'id bin Nafi', the student of Sayyiduna Abu Hubayrah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: The Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Abu Hubayrah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), saw me praying Fajr at the time the sun was rising. He took me to task for this and forbade me from it, then he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not pray until the sun has risen (above the horizon), for it rises with the horn of Satan."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad. Its men are thiqat (trustworthy), and this narration is strengthened by other sahih hadith which make clear the prohibition of prayer at sunrise.
