قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي صَدَقَةَ قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ : كُلُّ مُولَدٍ يُولَدُ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَنْ قَالَهُ ؟ قَالَ : قَالَهُ مَنْ كَانَ يَعْلَمُهُ .
It is narrated from Sa'id bin Abi Sadaqah (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: I asked Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) about this hadith, "Every child that is born is born upon the fitrah (the natural disposition of the true religion)": whose saying is it? He replied: "It is the saying of the blessed one (the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)) who knew this truth completely."
