بَابُ الْأَوْقَاتِ الَّتِي نُهِيَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِيهَا

Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 293 — The times in which prayer is prohibited

[وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ] : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، ثَنَا [عَنْبَسَةُ] الْوَزَّانُ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا فِي جِنَازَةٍ فِيهَا بُدَيْلٌ ، فَقَالَ - وَالشَّمْسُ مُصْفَرَّةٌ عَلَى أَطْرَافِ الْحِيطَانِ - : لَا تُصَلُّوا هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ .
فَقَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ " .
فَقَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ " .
It is narrated from Anbasah al-Wazzan: We were present at a funeral prayer in which Budayl was also taking part. At that time the sun had turned yellow on the tops of the walls, and he said: "Do not offer (the funeral prayer) at this hour."
Upon this, Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I offered a funeral prayer with Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) at exactly this time."
Upon this, Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I offered a funeral prayer with Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) at exactly this time."
