وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُبَيْبُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ أَخُو حَمْزَةَ الزَّيَّاتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : الْإِسْلَامُ ثَمَانِيَةُ أَسْهُمٍ فَذَكَرَهُ .
قُلْتُ : أَخْطَأَ فِيهِ حَبِيبٌ ، وَالصَّوَابُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ صِلَةَ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَوْلَهُ كَمَا مَضَى .
قُلْتُ : أَخْطَأَ فِيهِ حَبِيبٌ ، وَالصَّوَابُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ صِلَةَ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَوْلَهُ كَمَا مَضَى .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Islam has eight shares", and then the narrator mentioned the whole hadith.
I (Ibn Hajar) say: Habib erred in the chain of this narration; the correct version is that Imam Abu Ishaq transmitted it through Silah from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) as his own saying, as has already been detailed earlier.
