قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ الْقُشَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُصَافَحَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ ، أَوْ يُكَنَّوْا ، أَوْ يُرَحَّبَ بِهِمْ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade shaking hands with the polytheists, calling them by their kunyah (as a mark of honour), or welcoming them (by saying 'Marhaba')."
