It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not let the Bedouins prevail over you in the matter of the name of your prayer, for in the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, its name is Isha, as Allah Almighty has said: (And after the Isha prayer: three times of privacy for you) [Surah al-Nur: 58]. The Bedouins call it 'Atamah only because of the time of bringing back their camels after grazing and milking them."
Imam Musaddad said: Yahya bin Sa'id narrated this hadith to us from Abd al-Aziz bin Abi Rawwad, from a man of Ta'if, from Ghaylan bin Shurahbil, from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him). And Imam Abu Ya'la said: Abu Khaythamah narrated it to us; Uthman bin Umar narrated it to him, and Abd al-Aziz narrated it to him with the same chain mentioned above.
