Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 2730 — Prohibition of praising the sinner

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, becomes angry when a fasiq (a disobedient, wicked person) is praised."
Imam Abu Ya'la (may Allah have mercy on him) also narrated something similar through another chain, in which these words are additional: "And (because of it) the Throne of Allah Almighty shakes."
And Imam Abu Ya'la (may Allah have mercy on him) said: This narration is from my memory.
