وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لَهُمْ قَالَ : إِنَّ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ ، وَعَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا " اسْتَقْبَلَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجَعَلَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاحِدًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، وَالْآخَرَ خَلْفَهُ " .
2636 \ 2 - وَحَدَّثَنَا مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لِبَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، فَجَعَلَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكْبَرَهُمَا خَلْفَهُ ، وَحَمَلَ أَصْغَرَهُمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ .
هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، وَخَالَفَهُ عَاصِمٌ ، فَرَوَاهُ عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، أَخْرَجَهُ ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَغَيْرُهُ .

It is narrated from a freed slave of Banu Hashim that Sayyiduna al-Husayn bin Ali and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with them both) went to receive the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) "seated one of them in front of him and the other behind him." It is also narrated through another chain that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from a journey, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far and Sayyiduna al-Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) came out to receive him, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) "seated the elder of the two behind him and seated the younger one in front of him."
Dawud bin Abi Hind narrated it in this way; however, Asim differed from him and reported this narration through Muwarriq from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him). Imam Ibn Abi Shaybah and other hadith scholars recorded it in their books.
