وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي طُوَالَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَمَّا عُرِجَ بِي إِلَى السَّمَاءِ أَمُرُّ بِمَلَأٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ إِلَّا قَالُوا : عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ بِالْحِجَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When I was taken up on the Ascension to the heavens, every company of angels that I passed by said this very thing to me: O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), make cupping (hijamah) binding on yourself."
Imam al-Harith bin Abi Usamah recorded this hadith in his Musnad. Although Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi in its chain is not free of criticism, its meaning and text are established on the strength of authentic supporting narrations in other books of hadith.
