قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ آلِ بَحِيرِ بْنِ رَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، إِنَّ أَرْضًا مِنْ أَرْضِنَا يُقَالُ لَهَا : أَبْيَنُ ، هِيَ أَرْضُ مِيرَتِنَا وَرِيفِنَا ، وَهِيَ وَبِيَّةٌ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَعُوهَا ; فَإِنَّ مِنَ الْقَرَفِ التَّلَفَ " .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ عِنْدَ أَبِي دَاوُدَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ فَرْوَةَ بْنِ مُسَيْكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ .

A man of the family of Bahir bin Raysan narrates from a member of his own family that he submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! Among our lands is a land called Abyan; it is the source of our provisions and grain and a very fertile and verdant area, but the place is unhealthy (that is, diseases spread there frequently)." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave that place, for clinging to and staying in a place of epidemic or contagious disease leads to ruin and destruction."
I (Ibn Hajar) say: This hadith is found with Imam Abu Dawud from the narration of Sayyiduna Farwah bin Musayk (may Allah be pleased with him).
