It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he entered the toilet and found a morsel or a piece of bread lying in the channel of excrement and urine. He picked it up, removed the filth from it, then washed it very thoroughly and handed it to his slave, saying: "O boy! When I have finished my ablution, remind me of this morsel." When he had performed ablution, he said: "Give me that morsel," or "the piece of bread." The slave said: "O my master! I have eaten it." He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Go, you are free for the sake of Allah!" The slave said: "O my master! For what reason have you freed me?" He replied: "Because I heard my mother, Sayyidah Fatimah, daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), mentioning this saying of her father, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): 'Whoever finds a morsel or a piece of bread in the channel of excrement or urine, then picks it up, removes the harm and filth from it, washes it very thoroughly and eats it, it will not have settled in his stomach before he is forgiven.' And I would never like to take service from a man who is among the people of Paradise."
This narrator [Wahb] is in fact Abu al-Bakhtari the judge, who is known for lying and fabricating hadith, and this hadith is among the fabricated reports that he invented himself. Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned it in his book "al-Mawdu'at" and presented an excellent investigation fully exposing the reality of this hadith.
