وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، ثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ دَلِيلَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْعَرْجِ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَأْكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا .
Abdullah bin Sa'd narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: "I was the guide of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the journey from al-Arj to Madinah, and I saw him eating while reclining."
Imam al-Harith bin Abi Usamah narrated it in his Musnad; its chain contains Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi, who is a da'if (weak) narrator according to the majority of hadith scholars.
