حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَتْنِي زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ كَعْبٍ قَالَتْ : كَانَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَرَانَا نَأْكُلُ الْجَرَادَ فَلَا يَأْمُرُنَا وَلَا يَنْهَانَا ، وَلَا نَدْرِي مَا كَانَ يَمْنَعُهُ ؟ تَقَذُّرًا أَوْ يَكْرَهُ .
It is narrated from Zaynab bint Ka'b that she said: Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) used to see us eating locusts, and he neither commanded us (to eat them) nor forbade us, and we do not know what held him back (from them): (natural) distaste, or that he disliked them.
