وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ ، ثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : كُلُّ دَابَّةٍ مِنْ دَوَابِّ الْبَحْرِ وَالْبَرِّ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَمٌ يَنْفَصِلُ [فَلَيْسَ] لَهُ ذَكَاةٌ .
Abu Ya'la (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every creature among the creatures of the land and the sea that has no flowing blood has no dhakah (ritual slaughter) required for it (that is, slaughtering it or shedding its blood is not necessary to make it lawful)."
