Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 2363 — The lawfulness of eating game caught

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَطَاءً عَنِ الْمِعْرَاضِ يُصِيبُ بِعَرْضِهِ ؟ قَالَ : إِذَا أَصَبْتَ [بِعَرْضِهِ] فَمَا أَصَابَ فَكُلْ " .
It is narrated from Ibrahim bin Uyaynah (may Allah have mercy on him) that he asked Imam Ata' (may Allah have mercy on him) about the mi'rad (an arrow that is not pointed but strikes with its broad part): when it strikes (the game) with its broad part (and kills it)? He said: "When you strike it (the game) with its broad part and it kills it, then eat it."
