وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : يُعَقُّ عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافِئَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ . قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا : فَعَقَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا شَاتَيْنِ شَاتَيْنِ يَوْمَ السَّابِعِ ، وَأَمَرَ أَنْ يُمَاطَ عَنْ رَأْسِهِ الْأَذَى وَقَالَ : اذْبَحُوا عَلَى اسْمِ اللهِ وَقُولُوا : بِاسْمِ اللهِ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ ، اللَّهُمَّ مِنْكَ وَلَكَ هَذِهِ عَقِيقَةُ فُلَانٍ . قَالَتْ : وَكَانُوا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ تُؤْخَذُ قُطْنَةٌ فَتُجْعَلُ فِي دَمِ الْعَقِيقَةِ ثُمَّ تُوضَعُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُجْعَلَ مَكَانَ الدَّمِ خَلُوقًا .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "For a boy two equivalent goats are to be slaughtered, and for a girl one goat." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) slaughtered two goats each on behalf of al-Hasan and al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) on the seventh day. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the impurity be removed from the child's head. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Slaughter in the name of Allah and say: Bismillahi wallahu akbar, Allahumma minka wa laka, hadhihi 'aqiqatu fulan (In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, (this sacrifice) is from You and for You; this is the aqiqah of so-and-so).'" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "In the days of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah) it was the custom that a piece of cotton was taken, dipped in the blood of the aqiqah and then placed on the child's head. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that khaluq (a fragrant substance) be applied in place of the blood."
