Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 2307 — The aqiqah and what is done

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا جُبَارَةُ ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ ، عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، [وَقَالَ مَرَّةً عَنِ الْحَسَنِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا] ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ وُلِدَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ فَأَذَّنَ فِي أُذُنِهِ الْيُمْنَى ، وَأَقَامَ فِي أُذُنِهِ الْيُسْرَى ، لَمْ تَضُرَّهُ أُمُّ الصِّبْيَانِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him),
and sometimes (this same narration) has also been narrated from Sayyiduna al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a child born to him, and he calls the adhan in its right ear and the iqamah in its left ear, Umm al-Sibyan (that is, the illness of children caused by the jinn) will not harm it."
and sometimes (this same narration) has also been narrated from Sayyiduna al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a child born to him, and he calls the adhan in its right ear and the iqamah in its left ear, Umm al-Sibyan (that is, the illness of children caused by the jinn) will not harm it."
