قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، ثَنَا سَالِمٌ أَبُو غِيَاثٍ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي الْإِسْلَامِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا مَا لَمْ يُغَيِّرْهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: 'Whoever grows white hair in the state of Islam (i.e. whose hair turns white while remaining in Islam), that whiteness will be a light for him, provided he does not change it (with black dye).'"
