It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the five prayers is like that of a sweet, flowing river, or (he (peace and blessings be upon him) said) like abundant, deep water, at the door of one of you, and he bathes in it five times every day: would (that frequent bathing) leave any of the dirt of his body remaining?"
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated this hadith in his Musnad. Its chain has weakness due to the presence of Dawud bin al-Zibriqan and Ali bin Zayd bin Jud'an; however, this parable of the prayers is narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim from other eminent Companions with sahih and reliable chains.
