قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْمُسَيِّبِيُّ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ إِلْيَاسَ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى طَيِّبٌ يُحِبُّ الطَّيِّبَ ، نَظِيفٌ يُحِبُّ النَّظَافَةَ ، كَرِيمٌ يُحِبُّ الْكَرِيمَ ، جَوَادٌ يُحِبُّ الْجُودَ ، فَنَظِّفُوا أَفْنِيَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَشَبَّهُوا بِالْيَهُودِ الَّتِي تَجْمَعُ الْأَكْبَاءَ فِي دُورِهَا " .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty is pure and loves purity; He is clean and loves cleanliness; He is noble (honourable and generous) and loves the noble (honourable and generous) people; He is most generous and loves generosity. So keep your courtyards (and the surrounding enclosures) clean, and do not be like the Jews who keep garbage gathered in their houses."
