قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : الْكُوبَةُ حَرَامٌ ، وَالدُّفُّ حَرَامٌ ، وَالْمَعَازِفُ حَرَامٌ ، وَالْمَزَامِيرُ حَرَامٌ " .
Musaddad said: Abu Awanah narrated to us from Abu Hashim, from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), that he said: "The kubah (a kind of drum or tabla) is unlawful, the daff (tambourine) is unlawful, the ma'azif (all kinds of musical instruments) are unlawful, and the mizmars (flutes or other wind instruments of music) are unlawful."
