قَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ ، ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُعَلِّمُ عَلَى حِمَى الْمَدِينَةِ عَلَى أَشْرَافِ ذَاتِ الْجَيْشِ ، [وَ] عَلَى أَعْلَامِ الْمَصْنُوعَةِ ، وَعَلَى أَشْرَافِ مَخِيضٍ ، وَعَلَى أَشْرَافِ قَنَاةٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to mark out the boundaries of the special pasture of Madinah (hima al-Madinah), so that I might set up markers on the heights of Dhat al-Jaysh, the landmarks of al-Masnu'ah, the peaks of Makhid and the upper parts of Qanah."
This narration is in Musnad al-Harith (Bughyat al-Bahith 'an Zawa'id Musnad al-Harith); however, its chain is weak because its narrator Abd al-Aziz bin Imran is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).
