It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that "the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) surveyed the people, and his (peace and blessings be upon him) gaze fell on a man who had an Arab bow in his hand. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Hold fast to this (bow) and others like it, and to spears of cane; for through this Allah Almighty will grant you dominance and power in the lands and will support you with His help.'" And Imam al-Tayalisi said (in his Musnad): Ash'ath bin Sa'id, who is Abu al-Rabi' al-Samman, narrated this hadith to us with this same chain and text.
