It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drinks an intoxicating drink until his mind is gone has dared to come to one (great) door of the doors of the major sins (that is, he has committed a grave major sin)."
I (Ibn Hajar) say: With this same chain, Imam al-Tirmidhi recorded the hadith that mentions the prohibition of combining two prayers together without any valid excuse.
