وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : " لَوْ كُنْتُ تَقَدَّمْتُ فِي مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ لَرَجَمْتُ ".
Imam Musaddad (may Allah have mercy on him) relates: Yahya narrated to us through Yahya bin Sa'id, who said: I heard Nafi' narrating from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Had I already taken the initiative (by decree) in forbidding mut'ah with women, I would certainly have stoned the one who committed it."
