حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَعْدَةَ يَرْوِيهِ ، قَالَ : " خَيْرُ فَائِدَةٍ اسْتَفَادَهَا الْمُسْلِمُ بَعْدَ الْإِسْلَامِ امْرَأَةٌ تَسُرُّهُ إِذَا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا ، وَتُطِيعُهُ إِذَا أَمَرَهَا ، وَتَحْفَظُهُ فِي مَالِهِ وَنَفْسِهَا إِذَا غَابَ ".
It is narrated from Yahya bin Ja'dah (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best benefit (and possession) a Muslim gains after accepting Islam is a righteous wife who delights him when he looks at her, obeys him when he instructs her in something, and guards his wealth and her own self (and chastity) when he is out of sight."
According to the commentators of hadith, this narration describes an ideal woman who, through her character and loyalty, makes the home a cradle of tranquillity, and she has been declared the best treasure of the world.
