قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُضَيْلَةَ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَنَّهُ لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَ فَاطِمَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اجْعَلْ عَامَّةَ الصَّدَاقِ فِي الطِّيبِ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he contracted marriage with Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Spend most of the dowry (mahr) on buying perfume."
